Leave a Legacy
When the time feels right to write your will, you may consider leaving a gift to the BC Conservation Foundation. Legacy gifts have a powerful and lasting impact on our work, helping conserve wildlife and natural habitats for generations to come.
In your will, you can choose to leave a legacy gift to the British Columbia Conservation Foundation in one of two ways. We recommend discussing these options with your lawyer or estate planner to ensure your wishes are clearly documented.
1. A Residual Gift
A residual gift is a portion (or all) of what remains in your estate after other bequests and expenses have been settled. For example:
I give to the British Columbia Conservation Foundation, charitable number 123042822RT001, ___% of the residue of my estate.
2. A Specific Gift
A specific gift is a designated dollar amount or a particular asset, such as real estate or securities. For example:
I give to the British Columbia Conservation Foundation, charitable number 123042822RT001, the sum of $______.
If you’ve already included a legacy gift in your will, thank you. Your generosity means the world to us. If you prefer to remain anonymous, we will fully respect your privacy. While you are not obligated to inform us of your gift, we would be honored to thank you personally and plan for the future with your support in mind.
