Regional Manager – Kamloops

The Regional Manager is responsible for leading BC Conservation Foundation’s regional office in Kamloops, BC. The office consists of Regional Coordinators that conduct project management services for conservation projects in the interior and northern BC. The Regional Manager is responsible for managing their own portfolio of projects. They also hire contractors and staff members; and liaise with partners. This may include applying for and administering grant related projects. The Regional Manager reports to the Executive Director and is part of the senior management team for the Foundation.
Term: Permanent position with a 3-month probation period
Report to: Executive Director
Hours of work: 8:30am to 4:30pm (37.5 hours /week)
Location: Kamloops, BC
Pay Rate: $35.33 – $41.32 / hr

Tasks of the Regional Manager
Leads Regional Team
- Supervises a regional team of direct reports (e.g. via biweekly meetings) to ensure teams have the necessary knowledge and tools to conduct their duties.
- Oversees and distributes assigned projects, programs and contracts in the region.
- Contributes as a member of the management team towards organizational leadership.
- Highlights stories and projects, and supports communicating BCCF’s mission.
- Represents management at meetings and committees as required.
- Conducts regional business development activities.
- Conducts regional operational planning activities, reporting out quarterly and annually.
- Recruits, hires and trains administrative staff and resolves HR issues.
Implements and Manages Projects
- Maintains an annual project portfolio of approximately $800,000.
- Ensures Regional Coordinators follow relevant policy and procedures that:
- Secure contracts and proposals
- Hire project staff
- Support project staff and sub-contractors
- Oversee financial management of projects
- Provide human resource support.
- Ensures timely requests for funds and invoicing for the region on a quarterly basis.
- Conducts region specific financial contract management services in conjunction with the Executive Director.
- Reviews technical reports and deliverables when appropriate.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- University and/or college degree in business administration, accounting, non-profit management or relevant field
- Familiarity with office management procedures and accounting principles
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite and office management software
- Policies and procedures in a variety of administrative programs
- Leadership and supervisory experience
