Community Conservation Fund Application

Purpose

The Community Conservation Fund is a program by BC Conservation Foundation that aims to support community-led conservation initiatives around the province.

Application Deadline and Award Amount

The application intake window is from November 1 to November 30 (end of day).

Community conservation projects proponents have a maximum funding amount of $10,000.

Successful applicants will be informed in March.

Eligibility

Indigenous Peoples and First Nations, non-profits, stewardship groups and/or community-based organizations located within British Columbia are eligible.
The project should demonstrate community-based approaches, collaboration, applied knowledge, and/or education to positively impact fish and wildlife populations.
Projects must take place in British Columbia within the calendar year.
Post-secondary theses, dissertations or special projects are not eligible for funding.
The applicant cannot be the primary beneficiary of the intended project outcomes.
Other funding sources and/or in-kind contributions should be identified.
A group or organization can apply for funding once per year.
Applications are only received via our website. Emailed applications will not be accepted.

Funding Conditions

Successful applicants are required to sign a Project Agreement.
Project reporting must be completed 30 days after project completion, or one year plus 30 days after funding commenced, whichever comes first.
Applicants must sign a multi-media release.

Yes, I understand and accept the terms.

In signing this agreement, I, the proponent, confirm that the appropriate permits and/or licences and insurance have been obtained in time for the proposed work to commence.

All work carried out by the proponent will be done in a good, professional manner and within the established timeline communicated to the Foundation for the completion of the work.

The proponent agrees to indemnify the Foundation if the Foundation is found liable for any action or inaction that is caused by, in whole or in part, the proponent’s inability to obtain and/or maintain the appropriate permits and/or licences and insurance as would be required by the work.

If there are substantial changes in the project deliverables and /or timeline, the proponent must notify the Foundation of the changes in writing and request a project amendment.

The Foundation, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to revoke funding if major changes in deliverables or deadlines are required and cannot be mutually agreed upon.

The proponent must report to the Foundation within 30 days after project completion or one year plus 30 days after funding commenced, whichever comes first. Reports must include multimedia files (signed multi-media release form, photos and/or video) and a short summary outlining project outcomes and lessons learned.
